Golf team second at UMF; eighth at states

The Colby College golf team finished second at the University of Maine at Farmington Invitational on Sunday and took eighth at the Maine State Intercollegiate Meet on Friday and Saturday.

The Mules finished just 10 strokes behind winner Husson College at the UMF tourney at Belgrade Lakes Golf Club. Gus Thompson and Connor Tubridy both carded an 82 for the Mules to finish in a tie for 10th place. Sam Rouleau was 15th with an 83 and Hans Noering shot an 84 for 16th place.

At the Maine State tourney at Natanis Country Club, Thompson was 19th with rounds of 83 both days for a 166 total. Noering took 33rd place with two rounds of 89 for a 178.

The Mules are home this weekend at the Waterville Country Club for the Sid Farr Invitational on Saturday and the Colby Classic on Sunday.
