WATERVILLE, Maine --- Colby College senior Jenny Lawrence (Lafayette, Calif.) was named to the ESPN the Magazine Academic All-District I Volleyball Team on Thursday.

Lawrence made the second team and was one of 14 athletes honored in the college division for District I (New York and New England schools). Lawrence, a government major, was one of six New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) volleyball players to earn the honor.

Lawrence finished her career as Colby’s career leader in assists (4,024) and service aces (332). She also holds the single-season record for assists (1,473 in 2005). Lawrence, a setter, also finished her career with 1,353 defensive digs and 257 kills.

Lawrence immediately stepped in as a starter in her first year at Colby when the Mules won the NESCAC and NCAA New England Region titles in 2005. The Mules finished 37-4 that year and went to the NCAA final eight in Virginia.

Colby finished 12-16 this season and Lawrence led the team in assists (798) and service aces (74). She is a two-time NESCAC Fall All-Academic selection.
