WATERVILLE, Maine --- Colby College's Daniel Kiernan (Brookline, Mass.) was one of only two New England Small College Athletic Conference players to make the CoSIDA/ESPN the Magazine District I All-Academic second team for men's soccer.

District I is made up of colleges from New York and New England. Kiernan earned a spot on the second team as a defender.

Kiernan earned All-New England and All-NESCAC second team honors last year. He was Colby's leading scorer in 2004, but moved back to defense to help out in that capacity for his junior and senior seasons. Kiernan finished his career at Colby with nine goals and 12 assists for 30 points, including leading the team with four goals and five assists for 13 points in his second year at Colby.

Kiernan earned NESCAC Fall All-Academic honors in 2005 and 2006. He has been on the dean's list at Colby every semester. A co-captain this year, Kiernan led the Mules to a 6-5-3 record.
