WATERVILLE, Maine --- Colby College women's lacrosse coach Karen MacCrate Henning will team up with three of her former players at the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA)/Under-Armour North-South Senior All-Star Game on Saturday, June 13, at the United Sports Training Center in Downington, Pa. MacCrate Henning will coach the north squad and recent graduates Heather Nickerson (Falmouth, Mass.), Kate Sheridan (Hingham, Mass.), and Mary Clare Snediker (New Canaan, Conn.) will play in the noon Division III game as part of the Champions' Cup tournament. Division I and II senior games also will take place. MacCrate Henning, who will enter her third year at Colby during the 2009-10 academic year, has helped the Mules to back-to-back New England Small College Athletic Conference titles. She was named NESCAC Coach of the Year after the 2008 season. MacCrate Henning has a 29-8 record in her two years at Colby and a 132-29 career record in eight years at C.W. Post and two with the Mules. Sheridan was named to the IWLCA All-American first team for the second straight year after earning second team honors in her first year and sophomore seasons. She is the only women's lacrosse player in program history to earn four straight All-American honors. Sheridan is Colby's all-time leading scorer with 181 goals and 113 assists for 294 career points. She also holds the career goal scoring record and finished in a tie for the assist record. Sheridan holds single-season records for points and goals. She finished this past season with 34 goals and 51 assists for 85 points to lead the New England Small College Athletic Conference in total points and assists. Sheridan, who earned NESCAC Player of the Year and ECAC New England Player of the Year honors for a second straight time, also led the Mules in draw controls (38) and groundballs (41). Nickerson, one of the top defensive midfielders in the NESCAC, was an All-American for the first time after making the IWLCA third team. She had 37 goals and six assists for 43 points to place third in scoring for the Mules. She also led Colby in caused turnovers with 25. Nickerson finished her career with 81 goals and 17 assists for 98 points. She also had 112 caused turnovers, 140 groundballs, and 69 draw controls in four years. Snediker was a top defender for the Mules in the past four seasons. She finished her career with 77 groundballs, 52 caused turnovers, and 29 draw controls. Snediker, who scored her first collegiate goal this past season, missed about half of her junior season after hurting her knee, but fought back and played the final few field hockey games during the fall and then was ready for the 2009 lacrosse season. Snediker was a three-time All-NESCAC selection in field hockey.
