WATERVILLE, Maine -- Colby College senior point guard Nick Farrell (Aspen/Aspen, Colo.) and senior center Drew Cohen (Hackley School/Briarcliff Manor, N.Y.) were each named to the Maine Men’s College Basketball Coaches and Writers Association All-State First Team on Friday.
Meanwhile, Colby teammate Adam Choice (St. Georges School/Newport, R.I.) was selected to the Maine All-Rookie Team.
Farrell has already been named a DIII News honorable mention All-American, a All-Northeast Region selection by D3hoops.com., and he earned New England Small College Athletic Conference first-team honors.
Farrell led the conference in scoring at 19 points per game and was fourth in steals (46 total, 1.77 spg), sixth in free throw percentage (.787) and seven in assists per game (3.81).
Farrell closed out his career at Colby with 1,087 points, 396 assists and 168 steals. He shot nearly 76 percent from the foul line (160-for-212) over four years.
Cohen ranked third nationally in blocked shots per game at 3.5 per game after leading NCAA Division III in total blocks and blocked shots per game after his junior season. He ranked first in the NESCAC in blocked shots per game and defensive rebounds (6.33), was second in rebounding (8.8) and ninth in scoring (15.3).
Cohen, the NESCAC Defensive Player of the Year and a first-team all-conference selection after his junior season, finished his Colby career with 1,208 points, 674 rebounds and 287 blocked shots.
Choice worked his way quickly into the starting lineup and averaged 9.0 points, 5.9 rebounds and shot 48 percent from the field in his first year with the Mules.
The Mules finished 15-11 this season and made the NESCAC Final Four before falling in a semifinal game.
