Cunkelman second for men's cross country

NEW GLOUCESTER, Maine --- Ben Cunkelman placed second in the junior/senior race and Brian Desmond was third in the first-year/sophomore event for the Colby College men's cross country team at the Wave Race at Pineland Farms on Saturday.

Devin Dilts of Bates won the junior/senior race with a time of 19 minutes, 38 seconds and was followed in by Cunkelman at 19:42. Dilts and Cunkelman were the only two runners to break 20 minutes in the junior/senior race. Colby captain Andy Maguire took sixth in 20:35, Matthieu Nadeau was seventh with a 21:13, and Justin Rouse took 10^th in 21:32.

In the first-year/sophomore race, Desmond finished in 20:04 for the Mules. Luke Doherty Munro took sixth place for Colby in 20:26, Tom Letourneau finished with a 20:30 for eighth place, and Matt Cloherty was ninth with a 20:41.

Bates won the junior/senior race by a score of 34-20 (high score wins) and took the other race by a 36-19 count. The Colby men and women combined to win the overall race with Bates by a score of 113-106.
