WATERVILLE, Maine --- Junior forward Mary Clare Snediker (Greenwich Academy/New Canaan, Conn.), who led Colby College to a win over Bates College on Saturday, was named the New England Small College Athletic Conference Field Hockey Player of the Week for the week ending October 28.

Snediker slammed in a penalty stroke in a shootout and two first-half goals to lead the Mules to a 3-2 victory over the Bobcats in the final game of the season. Snediker gave Colby a 2-0 lead at halftime with her seventh and eighth goals of the season.

The teams went to overtime tied at 2-2 and no one managed a goal in the two extra sessions. Snediker started the penalty stroke shootout with a goal for Colby and the Mules went on to take a 3-0 margin for the win.

Snediker has scored 26 career goals in three seasons at Colby. She has been consistent with nine goals as a first-year player and nine as a sophomore.
