Men's hockey unbeaten streak at 11 games

GORHAM, Maine --- The unbeaten streak for the Colby College men's hockey team reached 11 games Saturday night as the Mules settled for a 1-1 tie with University of Southern Maine.

After losing the opening two games to the season, Colby (8-2-3) has 8-0-3 record over the past 11 games.

Dan Nelson scored his fifth goal of the season with just 52 seconds left in the first period for Colby's lone goal of the game.  Billy Crinnion, who leads Colby in scoring with eight goals and 11 assists, had the assist on the play.

USM (7-6-2) tied the game at 15:11 of the third period when Zach Joy scored his 17th goal of the season from Mike Carpenter and Pat Noonan.

Colby goaltender Cody McKinney stopped 20 shots in net.
