NEW LONDON, Conn. --- T.J. Kelley scored the eventual game-winning goal and Ben Grandjean stopped 23 shots as the Colby College men's hockey team posted a 3-1 victory over Connecticut College on Friday.
Joe Rothwell scored in the first period and Greg Osborne added an empty net goal for the Mules (7-5-2). Osborne scored his 40th career goal and Arthur Fritch had his 70th career point with one of the two assists on the goal.
Rothwell gave Colby a 1-0 lead at 3:21 of the first period off assists from Greg Valenski and Kelley. However, the Camels (5-9-1) tied the game at 1-1 on a goal by Brian Warner at 17:38 on the power play.
Kelley scored at 11:56 of the second period from Valenski and Josh Reber to give Colby the lead for good. Kelley picked up his 30th career goal.
Osborne got his empty net goal from Fritch and Reber at 18:51 of the third period.
