WATERVILLE, Maine --- Colby College first-year forward Mike Policinski (Shorewood, Minn.) had a pair of goals and senior captain Greg Osborne (Stoughton, Mass.) had three points to lead the Mules to a 5-1 win over Salem State in men’s hockey Friday night at Alfond Rink.
Policinski scored both of his goals in the opening period off assists from Eric Simmons (Cheektowaga, N.Y.) and Adam Marino (Lexington, Mass.) to help Colby (9-5-2, 7-4-1 NESCAC) to a 3-1 lead after one period.
T.J. Kelley (Ridgefield, Conn.) also had two goals for Colby, while Osborne finished with one goal and two assists. Osborne reached 50 career assists and now has 42 goals and 50 assists for 92 points in 88 games with the Mules. Arthur Fritch (South Boston, Mass.) also had a pair of assists for the winners.
Zach Doyen (Ortonville, Mich.) had the goal for Salem State (7-11).
Ben Grandjean (Waterford, Conn.) made 23 saves for the Mules, who host Southern Maine at 4 p.m. Saturday.
