Late goal hurts men's hockey in loss to Ephs

WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. --- Colby College goaltender Cody McKinney and Williams College keeper Ryan Purdy kept the game a scoreless affair for more than 57 minutes Saturday before the Ephs scored with just 2:36 remaining and then added two empty net goals on the way to a 3-0 New England Small College Athletic Conference win.

Ryan Young scored on a two-on-one with teammate Evan Dugdale at 17:24 of the third period to give Williams (10-3-3) the game-winning goal. Alex Smigelski and Ryan Scott added the empty net scores at 19:16 and 19:57.

Purdy had 31 saves in earning the shutout, while McKinney had 27 stops for Colby (10-4-3).
