HENNIKER, N.H. --- Mickey Serra scored on a power play with just 28 seconds left in the game to lift the New England College men's hockey team to a 2-1 win over Colby College on Friday night.
Serra had both goals for New England College (5-5). He scored 16:37 into the first period to give the Pilgrims a 1-0 lead at the first intermission. Colby captain Greg Osborne tied the game at 15:35 of the second period with his ninth goal of the season off assists from T.J. Kelley and Josh Reber in a power play situation. The Mules (4-4-2) were 14 seconds away from killing off a holding penalty when Serra got his game-winning goal. Ron Baia stopped 29 shots for NEC, while Colby goalie Ben Grandjean made 27 saves. Colby plays at Saint Anselm College at 3 p.m. Saturday.
