WATERVILLE, Maine --- Colby College senior captain Greg Osborne (Pomfret School/Stoughton, Mass.), who scored six goals and had three assists last week, was named the New England Small College Athletic Conference Men's Hockey Player of the Week for the week ending January 7.
Osborne had three goals and one assist in leading the Mules to a 6-0 win over then 15th-ranked Curry College last Tuesday at Alfond Rink. He had the lone goal for Colby in a 2-1 loss at New England College on Friday. Osborne finished the week with two goals and two assists in a 7-3 victory at Saint Anselm College.
Osborne leads the Mules in scoring this season with 11 goals and six assists for 17 points. He also leads the way in power play goals (6) and short-handed goals (1).
In the latest NESCAC statistics, Osborne is first in the league in goals scored (11), is tied for first in power play goals (6) and ranks third in overall points. Colby is third in the league in power play percentage at 25.9 percent.
Osborne has 38 goals and 43 assists for 81 career points in 83 games played. He had 11 power play goals among his 17 scores last year.
The Mules are 5-4-2 heading into this Friday's home game with Middlebury College at 7 p.m.
