WATERVILLE, Maine --- Colby College men’s hockey player T.J. Kelley (Taft School/Ridgefield, Conn.) was honored as the New England Small College Athletic Conference Player of the Week for the week ending November 26.
Kelley had four goals and two assists in two games this past weekend. He had two goals and two assists to help 14th-ranked Colby to a 10-1 win over Assumption College at Bowdoin College on Sunday in the Bowdoin/Colby Face-Off Classic. Kelley also had two goals for the Mules in a 6-3 exhibition game loss to the U.S. Under-18 National Team on Saturday at Alfond Rink.
Kelley ranks in a tie for third place in the NESCAC in scoring with three goals and five assists for eight points in Colby’s 3-0 start to the season. He is tied for fourth in goals and fifth in assists.
In the 2005-06 season, Kelley finished second in the NESCAC in scoring with 16 goals and 24 assists for 40 points. He was third in assists and tied for sixth in goals scored.
Kelley reached 60 career points with 25 goals and 35 assists in 47 games with the Mules.
Colby is ranked first in the NESCAC in scoring offense (8.0 goals per game) and is second on the power play with a 46.2 average (12-for-26). Kelley is a key player on the Mules’ man-up.
Colby will put its unbeaten record on the line this weekend with road games at Castleton State on Friday and then at Skidmore on Saturday.
