CASTLETON, VT. --- Castleton State scored just 1:27 into the game and never trailed in a 3-1 victory over Colby College in men's hockey Friday night.
Ryan Bartlett scored from Steve Culbertson just 1:27 into the game. Ross Carmichael added the eventual game-winning goal on the power play at 6:15 of the opening period.
Colby (3-1) got its goal on the power play as well off the stick of Joe Rothwell. Michael Belliveau and T.J. Kelley had assists on the goal at 11:46 of the second period.
Castleton State, however, tallied less than two minutes later on a shorthanded goal at 13:37 by Steve Smiddy.
