HENNIKER, N.H. --- Cody McKinney notched his fourth career shutout and Spike Smigleski had the game-winning goal with just 3:10 left in the game as the Colby College men's hockey team pulled away for a 1-0 victory over New England College on Friday night.
The Mules move to 10-10-2 overall and NEC is 7-15-2. Colby needs a win against Saint Anselm in the regular season finale Saturday at 3 p.m. and have Williams College and Bowdoin College lose to earn the fourth seed in the upcoming NESCAC playoffs and have a home game. Colby is in the playoffs and will finish somewhere between the fourth and seventh seed depending on Saturday's results.
Ben Chwick and Nick Kondiles each assists on Smigelski's big goal.
