AMHERST, Mass. --- Colby College's Cody McKinney stopped 32 shots, but Jeff Landers scored a pair of goals and dished an assist as Amherst College held on for a 4-2 win against the Mules in men’s hockey Friday night. Colby is 5-11-3 overall heading into a 3 p.m. game at Hamilton College on Saturday. Amherst improved to 13-4-1 overall. McKinney made 32 saves and kept Amherst off the scoreboard for half the game. The Lord Jeffs finally beat McKInney at 11:56 of the second period when Landers tallied. He later got his second goal at 18:17 for a 2-0 lead heading into the final period. Chris Buonomo cut the margin to one goal for Colby at 2:24 of the third period on a goal assisted by Wil Hartigan and Billy Crinnion. Mark Colp put the lead back to 3-1 at 5:43 of the final period and Amherst got an empty net goal from Olufemi Amurawaiye with just 1:02 to play. Bobby Sullivan added Colby’s final goal with just 13 seconds to play off passes from Matt Strickland and Chris Talbert.
