WATERVILLE, Maine --- Mike Doherty (Lynnfield, Mass.), who leads Colby College in scoring this season, was named to the New England Small College Athletic Conference Men's Hockey All-Conference Team on Thursday. Doherty has eight goals and 20 assists for 28 points and led the Mules this year in conference scoring with seven goals and 15 assists for 22 points. He has 26 goals and 44 assists for 70 career points in his junior season. In the latest NESCAC statistics, Doherty ranks sixth in the league in scoring and fifth in assists. Doherty has helped the Mules (12-10-2 overall) completely turn their season around. Colby was 2-8-1 at one point before putting together a 10-2-1 streak over the past 13 games. The sixth-seeded Mules upset third-seeded Middlebury in the league quarterfinals last Saturday and now face rival and fifth-seeded Bowdoin College in a NESCAC semifinal game Saturday at 4 p.m. at Williams College.
