BOSTON, Mass. --- Colby College graduate Jess Minty (Concord, Mass.) finished in 11th place in the mile at the U.S. Indoor Track and Field Championships on Saturday at the Reggie Lewis Center.
Minty, a 2006 Colby graduate, came into the race ranked 12th in the 12-runner field. Her time of 4:46.49 was just slightly off her best previous time of 4:46.42 run at the Boston University's Valentine's Classic.
Minty, who runs for New Balance Boston, was less than one-half second out of 10th place while easily beating Andrea Parker (4:51.50). Two-time Olympian Shayne Culpepper won the race in 4:34.42.
Minty was an All-American in indoor track and field and cross country during her four years at Colby.
