Men's lacrosse loses season opener

WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. --- Drew Piekarski had three goals and one assist for Colby College, but Williams College scored all 12 goals in the first and third quarters on the way to a 12-4 season-opening win in New England Small College Athletic Conference season-opening play Saturday.

The Ephs (1-0) scored the first two goals of the game, but Piekarski tallied with 6:03 left in the first quarter to make it a 2-1 game. Williams closed out the period with four straight goals to take control.

Caddy Brooks had the other goals for Colby (0-1).

Dixon Hargrove paced Williams with two goals and five assists, while Tim White had three goals and one assist.
