Men's lacrosse loses games in Virginia

ROANOKE, Va. --- Roanoke College broke away in the third quarter on the way to a 20-7 victory over Colby College in non-conference men's lacrosse Tuesday in Virginia.

The Mules (1-4) only trailed 7-4 after Ryan Scott tallied with 4:07 left to halftime, but Roanoke (6-4) got the final goal of the half for an 8-4 margin and then had a 7-0 scoring run in the third quarter.

Drew Piekarski and Ryan Scott both had two goals for Colby. Caddy Brooks added one goal and one assist, while Dan Schupack and Whit McCarthy also tallied.

The Mules play at Middlebury College this Saturday at 1 p.m. in a New England Small College Athletic Conference game.
