WATERVILLE, Maine --- Samuel Wisner (Wayland, Mass.) tallied just 4:22 into the second half and that goal stood up as Trinity College opened the season with a 1-0 win over Colby College in New England Small College Athletic Conference men's soccer Saturday.

Wisner, who led Trinity (1-0 overall, 1-0 NESCAC) in scoring last year, received a pass from Chris Doran (Wayland, Mass.) and slipped a low shot from about 18 yards out past Colby goalkeeper Dan Marden (Londonderry, N.H.).

Grant Schonberg stopped three shots for the shutout, while Marden stopped four shots.

The teams both had nine shots on goal and the Bantams had a 6-2 edge in corner kicks.
