Colby men's soccer settles for tie with Husson

BANGOR, Maine --- Duy Lyford (South China, Maine) got his first collegiate goal for the Colby College men's soccer team, but the Mules had to settle for a 1-1 tie with Husson College on Wednesday in a non-conference game.

Colby is 0-0-2 heading into Saturday's 11 a.m. New England Small College Athletic Conference home game with Bowdoin College. Husson moved to 2-1-1 this season. The Mules also had a 1-1 tie with Tufts to start the regular season.

Lyford scored just 5:50 into the match as Colby had the better of play offensively with a 29-8 shot advantage in the game. Husson tied the game later in the half on a goal by Oscar Ody.

Husson goalkeeper Jon Couie kept his team in the game with 17 saves, including five in overtime. Josh Kahane (Newton, Mass.) stopped two shots for the Mules.
