MIDDLEBURY, Vt. --- The Colby College men's soccer team got on the scoreboard quickly, but Middlebury College stayed unbeaten this season with a 3-1 win over the Mules in New England Small College Athletic Conference play Saturday.
The Mules scored the first goal of the year on Middlebury (6-0) when Nate Seiberling headed in a cross from Logan King just 4:34 into the game. The Panthers went the first 454 minutes of the season without allowing a goal. Middlebury bounced back when Casey Ftorek tallied at 8:27 and the two teams battled the rest of the way to a 1-1 halftime tie. David LaRocca and Baer Fisher added second-half goals for the Panthers. Dan Marden kept Colby in the game with 12 saves, while Brian Bush had six stops for Middlebury.
