WATERVILLE, Maine --- Peter Randall (Cambridge, Mass.) and Josh Lyvers (Harvard, Mass.) each scored in their first collegiate games to power the Colby College men's soccer team to a 3-0 win over Maine Maritime Academy in non-conference play Saturday.
Senior midfielder Andrew Cheit (Davis, Calif.) added the other goal for the Mules (1-0).
Randall tallied at 32:35 of the first half with a nice pass from Scott Brown (Trumbull, Conn.) in the box and the Mules led 1-0 at intermission.
Luc Bennett (Concord, Mass.) assisted on the goal by Lyvers at 68:29 to give the Mules some breathing room after holding the Mariners without a shot in the first half. Cheit put the game away at 80:30 with Colby's final goal.
Dan Marden (Londonderry, N.H.) and Doug Sibor (Hingham, Mass.) each played one half in goal for Colby and did not get credited with a save. Randy Bartlett (Lincoln, N.H.) stopped nine shots for the Mariners (1-2).
