WATERVILLE, Maine --- The Colby College men’s soccer team made it eight years in a row in being honored with the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) Team Academic Award.

Colby has the longest streak of any New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) team and was one of just two squads to receive the award this year. The NSCACA Team Academic Award is for teams with a 3.0 grade point average or better during the 2007-08 academic year.

In other Colby men’s soccer news, senior defender and co-captain Tom Milaschewski (Beverly, Mass.) was honored with the Mike Loebs MVP Award at the recent men’s soccer post-season dinner. Milaschewski also was named an honorable mention selection to the NSCAA All-East Region Scholar Team.

Senior co-captain Scott Carberry (Konigstein, Germany) earned the Sam Koch Award for spirit and dedication to the team, while junior goalkeepers Dan Marden (Londonderry, N.H.) and Doug Sibor (Hingham, Mass.) shared the Jamie Lue Memorial Coaches Award for love of the game and love of the team.

Sibor was named a captain for the 2009 season along with Mike Baldwin (Andover, Mass.) and Scott Brown (Trumbull, Conn.).
