WATERVILLE, Maine --- The Colby College men's soccer streak of earning the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) Team Academic Award is at nine straight years.

Colby has the longest streak of any New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) men's team and was one of just three squads from the league to receive the award this year. The NSCAA Team Academic Award is for squads with a 3.0 grade point average or better during the 2008-09 academic year.

In other Colby men's soccer news, senior goalie Dan Marden was honored with the Mike Loebs MVP Award at the recent men's soccer post-season dinner. Marden, a NESCAC Fall All-Academic selection, was key in helping the Mules make the conference playoffs for the first time.

Senior tri-captain captain Doug Sibor earned the Sam Koch Award for spirit and dedication to the  team, while tri-captain Scott Brown earned the Jamie Lue Memorial Coaches Award for love of the game and team.

Ben Desmond and Nate Seiberling were named co-captains for the 2010 team.
