Men's squash loses first match at NESCAC tourney

HARTFORD, Conn. --- The Colby College men's squash team had two nice comeback wins, but seventh-ranked Hamilton College took a 6-3 win over the 10th-ranked Mules in the opening round of the New England Small College Athletic Conference Men's Squash Championships on Friday night.

Colby will play at 11th-ranked Wesleyan University at 9:45 a.m. Saturday in a consolation bracket match. The Mules then take on ninth-seeded Connecticut College at 12:15 p.m. at Wesleyan.

Alex Fulton took a 3-0 win over Jono Peters at the fourth position for Colby. Meanwhile, Alex Place and Brett Willis both had come-from-behind victories for the Mules. Place lost 10-9 and 10-8 in the first two games, but battled back with 9-6, 9-3, 9-2 wins to close out the match. Willis was down two games to one before rallying for 9-6 and 9-4 wins in the final two games.
