Top three win for men's squash in loss at nationals

NEW HAVEN, Conn. --- The top three position players won for the Colby College men's squash team, but Amherst College won the other matches in a 6-3 victory over the Mules in the College Squash Association Men's Team Championships on Friday at Yale University.

Colby is the seventh seed in the Summers "C" Division with teams ranked 17th to 24th in the country. The Mules will face sixth-seeded Hamilton College on Saturday at 6 p.m. at Yale in a consolation bracket semifinal match.

Harry Smith won at the first position in easy fashion, but Will Sullivan at two and Alex Fulton at the third spot each had tests in 3-1 victories. Smith took an 11-7, 11-4, 11-7 victory over Brian Warner in moving to 18-6 on the season. Sullivan is 13-11 overall after an 11-4, 8-11, 11-9, 11-9 win at the second position. Fulton won his first two games over Steve Severson at three and then split the next two games in moving to 13-9 this year.
