Smith fifth for men's swim team at league meet

WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. --- Kevin Smith, a day after finishing third in the 1,000-yard freestyle, placed fifth in the 1,650 freestyle for Colby College at the New England Small College Athletic Conference Men's Swimming and Diving Championships on Sunday night at Williams College.

Smith finished with a time of 16 minutes, 21.49 seconds in the 1,650.

Ben Gross tied for seventh in the 100 freestyle (46.66, 46.33 prelim) and Mason Roberts was eighth in the 200 breaststroke (2:11.35). Gross and Smith joined forces with Raymond Rieling and Reilly Taylor to take eighth in the 400 freestyle relay in 3:09.95.
