Men's tennis drops match to Bates

LEWISTON, Maine --- Zack Schuman went three sets, including a tie-breaker in the final set, to win at second singles for the Colby College men's tennis team in a 7-2 loss to Bates College in New England Small College Athletic Conference play Monday.

Schuman took a 6-4, 3-6, 7-6 (5) victory over Amrit Rupasinghe. The Mules (2-1 overall, 1-1 NESCAC) also got a 9-8 (5) third doubles win from Bryan Brown and Michael Johnsen.

Colby heads to South Carolina next week for four matches. The Mules face Wisconsin-Whitewater on Saturday at 3 p.m. at Hilton Head.
