Men's tennis loses tight match to Amherst

WATERVILLE, Maine --- Colby College won three doubles matches and Zack Schuman won at second singles, but Amherst College won the other five singles matches in a 5-4 victory over the Mules on Saturday.

Schuman took a 7-6 (7), 6-3 win over Geoff Schwartz and then joined forces with Brody Saunders for a 9-8 (6) win at first doubles. Tim Fuhriman and Alex Chin took the second doubles match for the Mules (7-4, 3-2 NESCAC), while Tom Gildersleeve and Nick Rosen-Wachs captured the victory at the third spot.

Amherst improved to 9-3 overall and 3-2 in the league./p>
