GORHAM, Maine --- Junior Brody Saunders earned a hard-fought 6-7, 6-2 (10-6) win at first singles to lead Colby College to a 7-0 win over the University of Southern Maine in a non-conference men's tennis match Wednesday afternoon.
Saunders teamed with classmate Zack Schuman to earn a 8-6 win at first doubles as the 27th-ranked Mules improved to 4-3 this spring.
Schuman, Tim Fuhriman and Alex Chin also won singles matches for the Mules. The fifth and sixth singles matches were not completed after Colby had already clinched the match. Chin and Fuhriman joined forces at second doubles for a win, while Nick Rosen-Wachs teamed up with Tom Gildersleeve at third doubles.
Colby plays at Wesleyan University at 9 a.m. Saturday and then visits Connecticut College on Sunday at 10:30 a.m.
