LEWISTON, Maine --- Robert Yee made the semifinal round of the 'D' flight for the Colby College men's tennis team at the Bates College Wallach Invitational on Saturday and Sunday.
Yee fell 7-5, 6-2 to Skidmore's Max Bevan in a semifinal match. Bevan went on to take the title match. Yee took a 6-4, 7-5 win against Trinity's Michael Pucci in his opening round match and then won 6-1, 6-4 against Mayur Kasetty in a quarterfinal match.
Matthew Mantikas won his opening round match in 'C' singles with a 6-2, 6-2 win against Sawyer Lawson of Bates. Mantikas then dropped a tough 6-3, 4-6, 10-6 (pro set) match to Trinity's Azam Khan in the quarterfinals. Meanwhile, Than Moore had an opening round bye in 'C' and then fell 6-3, 6-2 to Seth Rogers of Brandeis in a quarterfinal match.
Dan Freeman and Tom Kimball each lost in the opening round of the 'A' flight singles, while Phillip Zunshine and Arjumand Masood fell in the 'B' flight for the Mules. Kimball and Masood teamed up as did Freeman and Zunshine, but each lost in the 'A' doubles opening round.
Bobby Post and Tripp Smith fell in the 'B' flight doubles first round as did Peter Serafini and Sam Grant.
