WATERVILLE, Maine --- Jack Bryant stayed unbeaten on the season in singles play for the Colby College men's tennis team in a 7-2 setback to Trinity College on Sunday.
Bryant won 6-2, 7-5 at fourth singles in moving to 7-0 this spring at singles. Meanwhile, the third doubles team of Luke Martin and Jason Ottomano won a tight 9-8 (3) match for the Mules (5-2 overall, 0-2 NESCAC).
"Once again, the score team score does not reflect the competitiveness and closeness of the match," Colby head coach Doanh Wang said. " Jack remained unbeaten in the spring and Matt Mantikas lost his first match of the spring after moving up from six to five.
Anson McCook won a tough match at first singles and then joined forces with Rich Bonfiglio to take the first doubles match for Trinity (4-2, 1-0). Colby lost two singles matches in three sets, including Ottomano at first singles and Mantikas the five spot.
