WATERVILLE, Maine --- Tom Kimball (Washington, Conn.) won at first singles and teamed up with Phillip Zunshine (Columbus, Ohio) for a victory at first doubles as the Colby College men's tennis team started the spring season with a 9-0 win over Thomas College on Saturday. Kimball took a 6-1, 6-3 victory over Jeremy Cliff while he and Zunshine cruised to an 8-1 victory at first doubles. Dan Freeman (Big Flats, N.Y.), Than Moore (Bedford, N.H.), Zunshine, Robert Yee (Quincy, Mass.), and Matthew Mantikas (Glastonbury, Conn.) all posted easy 6-0, 6-0 singles wins. Freeman and Mantikas did not give up a game at second doubles and neither did Trip Smith (Concord, Mass.) and Moore at the third spot for Colby, which plays host to Bates College on Monday at 4 p.m. Colby 9, Thomas 0 Doubles 1: Tom Kimball/Phillip
