MIDDLETOWN, Conn. --- Matt Carroll won at third singles and Jack Bryant took the fourth singles match after joining forces to take a victory at first doubles in leading the Colby College men's tennis team to a 7-2 win over Wesleyan University in NESCAC play Saturday. Carroll won 7-6 (5) and 7-5 in a tight match with Alex Hirsch, while Bryant had it a little easier with a 6-4, 6-1 win against Robert Troyer. Bryant and Carroll then went up against first singles player Jeff Legunn and second singles player Michael Piderit at first doubles and came away with an 8-3 victory. The Mules' Matt Mantikas won at fifth singles and Sam Bachelder was a winner at the sixth spot while losing just one game. Jason Ottomano and Luke Martin took an 8-5 win at second doubles, while Bachelder teamed with Robbie Yee for an 8-3 win at the third spot. Colby moves to 6-2 overall and 1-2 in NESCAC play heading into Sunday's 2 p.m. match at Connecticut College. Colby 7, Wesleyan 2 Singles -- #1 – Jeff Legunn (W) def.
