NEW LONDON, Conn. --- Chris DeRoo bounced back from an injury issue that kept him out of last weekend's league meet to capture the 400-meter dash at the New England Division III Men's Track and Field Championships on Saturday at Coast Guard Academy.

DeRoo missed the New England Small College Athletic Conference Championship meet last Saturday at Hamilton College. He had a time of 49.47 to win the 400 title. DeRoo also teamed up with Bob Glotfelty, Ben Ossoff, and Dan Moss to take fifth place in the 1,600 relay in 3:25.89.

Camden Bucsko placed third in the discus throw (144-0) and was ninth in the shot put (43-11.75) for Colby, which took 14th place out of 26 teams in the meet.

Glotfelty was seventh in the 800 meters (1:55.09) and Ben Ossoff took 11th in the same race in 1:55.38. Matt Hellinger took ninth in the 100 dash (11.38) and Tim Maguire placed 10th in the 3,000 steeplechase (9:45.17).
