CAMBRIDGE, Mass. --- Dylan Nisky had the best run of his young collegiate career in taking second place in the 800-meter run and Trent Wiseman was runner-up in the pole vault as the Colby College men's outdoor track and field team placed eighth out of 31 scoring teams at the New England Division III Championships on Saturday at MIT. Nisky had a time of 1:55.02 in a field of 17 runners. There were eight runners with a time of 1:55.87 or better. Bowdoin College junior Colin Fong won the race in 1:54.86. Wiseman had a jump of 15-5 in taking second place in the pole vault. He nearly won the event after clearing the height on his first leap. MIT's Cyrus Vafadari missed his first two attempts at 15-5, but cleared the bar on his final try. While Wiseman missed all three attempts at 15-11, Vafadari nailed his first attempt to win the competition. Colby sprinter Dom Kone broke his own school record with a 10.77 clocking in a preliminary race in the 100 dash. In the finals, a time malfunction forced officials to place the runners. Kone finished in third place in the final. In other events, David Lowe took seventh place in the 400 hurdles with a 55.17 clocking. Luke Doherty Munro, Alex Peters, Nisky, and Matt White took fifth place in the 3,200 relay with a time of 7:52.54. The Mules had 28 points to place eighth.
