Fereday second again for Colby Nordic team

MIDDLEBURY, Vt. --- Wyatt Fereday finished in second place in an event for the second straight week for the Colby College men's Nordic ski team at the Eastern Intercollegiate Ski Association (Middlebury Ski Carnival) Championships on Sunday at Rikert Ski Center.

Fereday, who was runner-up in a 10-kilometer race at Williams last weekend, took second in the 20-kilometer mass start freestyle race in 1:00:01.0. University of Vermont's Franz Bernstein won the race with a 59:43.6 clocking. Fereday's placing helped the Colby men take a strong third out of 12 teams with 94 points.

Sam Mathes took 15th place with a 1:02:48.5, Jake Barton was 21st in 1:03:29.3, and Corey Park led a balanced team effort with a 22nd in 1:03:34.3.

On the women's side, Colby finished sixth overall as Lucy Garrec took sixth place in 52:27.1. Olga Golovkina was 27th with a 55:39.6 over the 15K course.
