Barton leads Nordic ski teams at Stowe

STOWE, Vt. --- Jake Barton finished in 17th place for the Colby College men's Nordic ski team in helping the Mules finish sixth out of 13 teams in the 20-kilometer classic mass start race at the University of Vermont Ski Carnival at Stowe on Friday.

Barton finished in a time of 1:05:02.4 and teammate John Dixon was 29th with a 1:07:00.0. Wyatt Fereday was right behind Dixon in 30th place in 1:07:04.0 and Paco DeFrancis finished 33rd with a 1:07:21.9.

For the Colby women, Olga Golovkina placed 33rd in the 15-kilometer classic mass start with a 58:57.6. The Mules placed 10th in the event.
