Nordic men take second at Dartmouth

HANOVER, N.H. --- Another week, another top three finish for the Colby College men's Nordic ski team.

The Mules took second place in the 10-kilometer freestyle event at the opening day of the Dartmouth College Ski Carnival on Friday. Dartmouth won the event with 96 points and Colby was a close second with 93 in the 11-team field.

In the seven ski carnival races this season, Colby has two wins, two seconds, two thirds, and one fourth.

Nick Kline finished fourth in 25:32.6 and Silas Gill was a place behind in fifth with a 25:40.6 for Colby. Matt Briggs got a top 10 finish by placing ninth in 25:55.2, Wyatt Fereday was 12th with a 26:08.8, and Sam Mathes skied to a 26:24.1.

For the Colby women, Kathleen Maynard took 13th place in the 5-kilometer event in 14:57.8 as the Mules placed eighth.
