Another second for Nordic men at Dartmouth

HANOVER, N.H. --- The Colby College men's Nordic ski team finished in second place for the second straight day after earning 87 points in the men's 20-kilometer mass start classical race on Saturday at the Dartmouth College Ski Carnival.

Colby earned its third second-place finish of the season to go along with two victories, two thirds, and one fourth in four ski carnivals. Dartmouth won the event with 93 points and the Mules were able to hold off Middlebury College (84 points) and University of Vermont (83) in the 11-team field.

Nick Kline finished in seventh place in 1:01:55.2 and teammates Wyatt Fereday (8th, 1:02:00.2) and Silas Gill (9th, 1:02:03.6) were right behind him. Matt Briggs placed 13th for the Mules in 1:02:51.9, while John Swain was 22nd in 1:03:54.3 and Sam Mathes took 25th in 1:04:09.8.

The Colby women placed eighth as Kathleen Maynard took 13th place in 55:26.9.
