WATERVILLE, Maine --- Meryl Poulin (St. Mark's School/Cape Elizabeth, Maine) had three goals to help the Colby College field hockey team to a 2-0 record and was named Monday as the New England Small College Athletic Conference Co-Player of the Week.
Poulin had the first two goals of the game in the Mules' 3-0 win over Connecticut College in league play Saturday. She blasted in a shot off a penalty corner on the first goal and then lifted the ball into the upper right corner on her second score.
Poulin started the week with the lone goal in a 1-0 victory over University of New England on Wednesday. She scored 11 minutes into the second half and the goal stood up.
In the latest NESCAC statistics, Poulin ranks 10th in the conference in scoring with 10 goals and three assists for 23 points. She is tied for seventh in goals per game (0.77) and ranks in a tie for first in game-winning goals (5).
Poulin has played in 51 career games with Colby and has 22 goals and 16 assists for 60 points from her center midfield position. She and the Mules (6-7) will play at Bates College in the regular season finale Friday at 4 p.m.
