JACKSON, N.H. --- Colby College's Dana Breakstrone took 10th place in the women's giant slalom, Joshua Kernan finished in 15th place and Jody Centauro was 20th for the men's alpine ski team, and Kathleen Maynard paced the Nordic women on Friday at the University of New Hampshire Ski Carnival.
In women's alpine skiing, Colby placed eighth in the giant slalom as Breakstone was 10th with runs of 1:13.09 and 1:12.66.
Kernan had runs of 1:10.98 and 1:10.82, while Centauro finished with a 1:09.55 and a 1:11.46 to help the Mules place sixth overall in the giant slalom.
Maynard led the women's Nordic ski team by placing 13th with a time of 20:22.6 in the 5-kilometer freestyle race. The Colby women placed seventh out of 12 teams.
Fred Bailey was 28th and John Swain placed 29th for the Colby men's Nordic team in the 10K run.
