Colby skiers have top 10 finishes

WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. --- The Colby College men's alpine team and the men's Nordic team each had two skiers in the top 11 during competition Saturday at the Williams College Carnival at Jiminy Peak.

Jody Centauro was eighth in the slalom for the men's alpine team in a two-run total time of 1:39.72 and Joshua Kernan placed 11th with a 1:40.56. Sam Witherspoon was 14th for the Mules to help the men's alpine team take fifth out of 10 teams in the slalom. Colby was just 6.5 points out of second place.

Nick Kline was eighth and Fred Bailey took 11th place for the men's Nordic team in the classic sprint. The Mules finished in a tie for fourth place with Middlebury with 90 points apiece.

The women's alpine team was sixth as Emily Colin had a total time of 1:48.31 to place 14th in the slalom and teammate Dana Breakstone placed 15th with a 1:48.35. Laura Littman took 21st place in 1:52.52.

The women's Nordic team took ninth place out of 12 teams and did not have a skier in the top 30.
