Bailey 20th, Kline 25th at NCAA ski meet

JACKSON, N.H. ­- Colby College Nordic skier Fred Bailey (Telstar Regional/Andover, Maine) placed 20th and teammate Nick Kline (Cape Elizabeth/Cape Elizabeth, Maine) was 25th in the 10-kilometer freestyle technique event at the NCAA Skiing Championships on Wednesday at the Jackson Cross Country Center.

Bailey had a time of 26 minutes, 50.4 seconds over the course and was sixth among skiers from the Eastern Intercollegiate Ski Association (EISA) circuit. Kline was ninth among EISA skiers with his clocking of 27:07.6.

Denver University’s Rene Reisshauer won the title with a time of 24:52.2.

Nordic skiing continues with the NCAA men’s 15-kilometer classical race on Friday at 11 a.m.

Colby alpine skiers Jody Centauro (Green Mountain Valley School/Beaconsfield, Quebec) and Josh Kernan (Mount Washington Valley/Shelburne, N.H.) are in action Thursday with the giant slalom event at Attitash at 12:30 p.m.
