WATERVILLE, Maine --- Lauren Becker allowed just four hits in a complete game and helped her own cause with two hits and one run scored to lift the Colby College softball team to a 10-1 win over Thomas College on Wednesday in a game shortened to six innings because of the eight-run rule at Colby.

Becker allowed just the one earned run, struck out three, and walked four to earn her fifth victory of the season.

Katie Graichen, Lindsay Peterson, Alyssa Lepore, Brianne Wheeler, and Becker all had two hits for Colby. Peterson drove in four runs with a pair of two-run singles. Allana Sanborn, Graichen, and Barbara Santos all had two runs scored.

The Mules scored two runs in the first inning on RBI singles by Santos and Wheeler. Colby made it 4-0 after two innings when Peterson drove in a pair of runs.

Thomas cut the lead to 4-1 in the top of the fourth inning when Ali Kriegel had a two-out single and later scored on an RBI by Kristen Masessa.

The Mules answered back with two runs in the fifth inning on an RBI double by Lepore, who later scored. The Mules used a two-run single by Peterson and scored two other runs on wild pitches in the sixth inning.
