WATERVILLE, Maine --- Eight Colby College athletes were named to the New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) Fall All-Sportsmanship Team on Friday.

Men’s cross country runner Jeremy Judge (Cumberland, Maine), women’s cross country runner Devan FitzPatrick (Greenland, N.H.), field hockey player Mary Clare Snediker (New Canaan, Conn.), football player Mark Ozarowski (Concord, Mass.), golfer John Wagner (Gardner, Mass.), men’s soccer player Scott Carberry (Konigstein, Germany), women’s soccer player Whitney Lynn (Dallas, Texas), and volleyball player Caitlin Burchill (Walpole, Mass.) were Colby players honored.

Snediker and Carberry were captains for their respective teams and had to overcome injuries to play in the final few games of the season. FitzPatrick, Ozarowski, Wagner, and Lynn also were captains. Of the 83 individuals who were honored by the NESCAC, Burchill is one of just two first-year players to be selected. The other seven Colby athletes were seniors.

The NESCAC All-Sportsmanship Team is composed of one student-athlete from each institution for each sport and is selected by the players and coaches for their respective team.
