WATERVILLE, Maine --- First-year player Samantha Smith came from two games down to record a win at the second position for the Colby College women's squash team in a 7-2 loss to Bates College on Wednesday at the Dunaway Courts.
Smith lost the first two games by 9-1 and 9-6 scores to Whitney Roller. She fought back with 9-6, 9-4 and 9-6 game wins to earn the point.
Colby third position player Nina Delano lost the opening game and then won the next three to earn the other point for the 12th-ranked Mules (3-2).
Bates, 6-2 overall and ranked ninth nationally, got a win from Kelsey Engman at the first spot.
